Encontro Internacional sobre Criatividade Urbana, Nápoles Dez 2011
Foi com muita satisfação que a Galeria de Arte Urbana esteve presente no Encontro Internacional sobre Criatividade Urbana, realizado nos dias 15 e 16 de Dezembro em Nápoles, a convite da associação italiana INWARD - International Network on Writing Art Research and Development, a par das três outras organizações participantes: Ground Release (Reino Unido), Stiching Aight (Holanda) e The Wall Project (Russia).
Entre as diversas actividades do encontro, destacamos:
-A inauguração da exposição "La fabbrica delle lettere" (Fábrica de Letras) na Biblioteca Nacional Vittorio Emanuele III, sita no Palazzo Reale de Nápoles, com trabalhos dos 9 artistas italianos: ZenTwo ( Francesco Palladino), Made (Alberto Capozzi), Entik (Alessandro Battisti), Pencil (Domenico Acampora), Opium (Aldo Oliviero ), Zeus40 (Gianluca Caputo), Macs ( Antonello Piccinino), Cactus (Vincenzo Mastroiorio), e Maria (Maria Checchia);
- A produção de um mural de graffiti num bairro problemático na periferia de Nápoles pelos participantes internacionais em conjunto com writers italianos. De referir, que este mural já tinha sido intervencionado com criações de graffiti, em Julho passado, por um conjunto de criadores no âmbito do seminário internacional European Graffiti;
- A assinatura do Memorando de Entendimento para a constituição da rede internacional de criatividade urbana, por parte das 5 organizações participantes no encontro, na sede da INWARD - Centro Territoriale per la Creatività Urbana, em Nápoles.
A participação da GAU neste encontro revelou-se bastante positiva, uma vez que permitiu a possibilidade de dar continuidade aos trabalhos e parceria iniciadas em Julho passado, bem como a oportunidade de internacionalização da actuação da Galeria de Arte Urbana, de debate, troca de experiências e boas práticas em projectos relacionados com os universos da arte urbana e do património artístico e cultural – objectivos estabelecidos para o Programa Municipal para a Arte Urbana.

It was with great satisfaction that the Urban Art Gallery attended the International Meeting on Urban Creativity, held on 15 and 16 December in Naples, by invitation of the Italian association Inward - International Network on Writing Art Research and Development, along with the three other participating organizations: Ground Release (UK) Stichting Aight (Netherlands) and The Wall Project (Russia).
Among the various activities of the meeting, we highlight:
-The opening of the exhibition "La Fabbrica delle Lettere" (Letter Factory) in National Biblioteca Vittorio Emanuele III, located in Palazzo Reale in Naples, with works by 9 italian artists: ZenTwo (Francesco Palladino), Made (Alberto Capozzi) Entik (Alessandro Battisti), Pencil (Domenico Acampora), Opium (Aldo Oliviero), Zeus40 (Gianluca Caputo), Macs (Antonello Piccinino), Cactus (Vincenzo Mastroiorio), and Mary (Maria Checchia);
-The production of a graffiti mural in a neighborhood on the outskirts of Naples by the international participants in conjunction with Italian writers. This wall had already been painted with creations of graffiti last July by a group of writers in the context of the international seminar on European Graffiti;
-The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding for the establishment of the International Network of Urban Creativity by the five organizations, wich had place at the headquarters of Inward - Centro per la Territoriale Creatività Urbana, in Naples.
GAU's participation in this meeting proved to be very positive, since it allowed the possibility of continuing the work and partnership started last July, and the opportunity to internationalize the actions of Urban Art Gallery, debate, exchange of experiences and best practices on projects related to the worlds of street art and cultural heritage - targets for the Urban Art's Municipal Program.

Family Tree - Exposição de José Carvalho
O multifacetado Artista José Carvalho expõe algumas das sua obras na Trem Azul.
A Exposição estará patente até 16 de Fevereiro de 2012, sendo uma excelente oportunidade para conhecer melhor o trabalho do José.

workshop "A distinção entre o graffiti como forma de arte e de vandalismo”
Ainda no mês de Dezembro, destaca-se o apoio à realização do workshop dedicado ao tema "A distinção entre o graffiti como forma de arte e de vandalismo”, organizado pela APDES (Agência Piaget para o Desenvolvimento) em parceria com a GAU, no Bairro da Flamenga em Chelas.
Still in the month of December, the highlight is the support for the workshop dedicated to the theme "the distinction between the graffiti as an art form and vandalism", organized by APDES (Piaget Agency for development) in partnership with the GAU, in the neighborhood Flamenga of Chelas.
A iniciativa integra a realização de um conjunto de intervenções artísticas no eixo central da Malha H do Bairro da Flamenga, que conta com o envolvimento da comunidade local, de writers residentes no bairro e de artistas convidados, designadamente SLAP e ATSOK, bem como uma sessão de esclarecimento sobre os conceitos e as práticas associadas à temática em causa.
The initiative incorporates the realization of a set of artistic interventions in the central axis of the mesh (H) of the Bairro da Flamenga, with the involvement of local community residents in the neighborhood of writers and guest artists, including SLAP and ATSOK, as well as a clarification about the concepts and practices associated with the subject in question.
A par das actividades de pintura, a requalificação do espaço envolvente é uma das vertentes que a GAU procura assegurar, pelo que através da colaboração dos serviços municipais de higiene urbana e dos próprios residentes do bairro, procedeu-se também à limpeza global do local, incluindo pavimentos, paredes (pintura e remoção das inscrições vandálicas) e arranjo dos canteiros.
The par painting activities, the re-qualification of the surrounding space is one of the strands that GAU seeks to ensure, through the collaboration of municipal urban hygiene services and neighborhood residents themselves were also the local global cleanup, including floors, walls (painting and removal of entries ) and arrangement of flowerbeds.

Are two horses and some fish. Are only four working days. There are seven floors of Gable. Are just 23 years of age. There are many cities bought up by Europe, always on a large scale.

Nas imediações da Av. da Liberdade, mesmo junto ao Tivoli, entre a Rua de Santa Marte e a Rua Rodrigues Sampaio, Aryz encontrou um espaço privilegiado para libertar mais um episódio da sua notável saga de vastos murais, já dispersos por países como a Polónia, a Itália, a Finlândia, a Inglaterra, apenas para mencionar alguns, por si visitados em 2011.
In the immediate vicinity of AV. da Liberdade, right next to Tivoli, between the street of Santa Marta and Rua Rodrigues Sampaio, Aryz found a privileged space to unleash yet another episode of his remarkable vast murals, already dispersed by countries such as Poland, Italy, Finland, England, just to mention a few, it visited in 2011.
Respeitando os vestígios ainda patentes de um edifício contíguo, anteriormente demolido, o autor traçou directamente sobre o reboco cru de toda a empena, uma espiral enleada entre o corpo e o esqueleto de dois cavalos, pontuada por certos apontamentos “burgueses” que introduzem um afável humor nas suas obras, como um laço e um chapéu mínimos ou até pequenos peixes que parecem nadar sorridentes em redor das figuras centrais.
Respecting the traces a patent still, contiguous building previously demolished, the author drew directly on the raw plastering whole Gable, a spiral enleada between the body and the skeleton of two horses, punctuated by certain notes "burghers" that introduce a affable mood in his works, as a loop and a minimum hat or even small fish that seem smiling swim around the central figures.

ARYZ em Lisboa
No seguimento da celebração do 2º aniversário da Montana e com a colaboração da GAU, o artista espanhol ARYZ intervencionou um edíficio situado perto do teatro Tivoli entre R. Santa Marta e a Rua Rodrigues Sampaio.
Dia 8, na loja da Montana, inaugura uma exposição com trabalhos deste conceituado Artista.
On the 2nd anniversary of Montana and with the collaboration of GAU, the Spanish artist ARYZ held in a building situated close to the Tivoli Theater between Street Santa Marta and Street Rodrigues Sampaio. Day 8, in the shop of Montana, will inaugurate an exhibition with the work of renowned artist.
